Here Comes the Oscars….

The Oscar awards are presented for outstanding individual or collective efforts in several cinematic categories.  The members of the Academy vote for their peers and the best is selected using a complicated method of counting and recounting of the performances nominated in each category.

Like the Oscars, we will be handing out awards for the best performance in several categories.  But unlike the Academy the selection rules are simple to understand.

And the Award goes to ….

The award for Best Acting Club – will be given to the Club that achieves the most Competent Communicator awards during the eligibility period of December 1 – March 31, 2012.

The award for Best Supportive Acting – will be given to the Area Governor of the Area who has the most Competent Communicator awards during the eligibility period of December 1 – March 31, 2012.

The award for Best Acting Club – Advanced Division will be given to the Club that achieves the most Advanced Communicator awards during the eligibility period of September 1 – January 31, 2012.

The award for Best Supporting Acting – Advanced Division will be given to the Area Governor of the Area who has the most Advanced Communicator awards during the eligibility period of September 1 – January 31, 2012.

The award for Best Directing - will be given to the Club that achieves the most Leadership awards during the eligibility period of November 1 – January 31, 2012.

The Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to the Advanced Club that achieves the most overall goals during the eligibility period of September 1 – March 31, 2012.

In addition to the winners being announced at the Spring Conference, there will also be awards just for clubs being nominated.  That means the 2nd and 3rd place winners of

the Best Acting and Directing promotions will be recognized for their efforts.   Let’s see the Academy do that.
