David W Baka is the 2011-12 Central Division governor

David W. Baka, DTM is the Central Division Governor and the past Area 14 Governor. Mr. Baka is a member of the OCLC Toastmasters which has been a President Distinguished Club for the past 3 years. His goals are to build stronger clubs, explore new opportunities for growth, increase communication within the division and help our members reach their goals.

Mr. Baka studied Biochemistry and Animal Science (Dairy) at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. He graduated with highest honors in the School of Business at Ivy Tech State College with an A.A.S. in Computer Information Systems. He attended Purdue University School of Engineering, majoring in Information Technology. He has also attended adult skating and hockey classes at The Ohio State University.

He is a Lifetime Professional member of the Alpha Chi Sigma Chemistry Fraternity and has served as the Master of Ceremonies. He served 1 year as a Student Representative at the University of Wisconsin. He is a founding member and was the first president of SMARES. He served on the Board of Directors for the Columbus Figure Skating Club and was a Co-Chair of the 2010 Holiday Season Competition. He was also the chair of the Exhibits Sub-Committee and a presenter at the 2011 District 40 Spring Conference.

Mr. Baka is currently a Senior Software Engineer at OCLC and has been there for the last 10 years. Previously to working at OCLC, Mr. Baka has been a consultant to companies such as IBM, Lucent Technologies and Ameritech
