Profile of Eileen James

 

Eileen James is the 2011-12 District 40 Lt.Governor of Marketing

Eileen James is a retired teacher with a long history of service to school and community. She lived and worked in Pennsylvaniafor many years and moved back toUrbana,OH, in 2002 to help care for my mother.

She has a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Masters in School Administration. She has coordinated and directed school-wide and district-wide programs, directed curriculum development, and managed the day-to-day business of teaching.  She also served two terms on the Board of Directors forGeneralMcLaneSchool District.

She has three adult children and five grandchildren. Her sons are successful businessmen; daughter is director of an outreach program forGannonUniversity. She is an active member of her church community, and have served on the Board of Directors of the non-profit Cancer Association of Champaign County for more than eight years (currently in her sixth year as the President of the Board).

She has served her club as president, vice-president education, and treasurer. She has been Area 5 governor, Area 4 governor, and Northern Division governor. She has  traveled to all divisions, exceptBluegrass, to assist with club officer training. She has presented educational sessions several times at district conferences and been a club coach, club mentor, and club sponsor.  She  is a DTM.

She believes that in service to others, we grow and learn.  Perhaps her greatest strength is in building teams of leaders. In her own words Eileen says “I pledge to District 40 my time, my effort, my skills, and my commitment.  My goal is two-fold: to build each existing club to charter strength and to develop new clubs in every area.  Working together, we can meet that goal. ”
